Studio Kebena is a creative studio founded by Kalkidan Mesfin, an Amsterdam native with Ethiopian roots. She combines (sub)cultures and social themes into inspiring creative concepts.

Projects by Studio Kebena are approached in a holistic manner, integrating Kalkidan’s commercial, analytical and creative talents.

The studio is named after the river Kebena in Ethiopia, which means cool or cold in the Oromo language. The river has a personal meaning to Kalkidan, as it flows through the Addis Abeba neighbourhood where her parents grew up and met each other.
